Here you’ll find a brief description of each position to help you decide where you might be the best fit. Please indicate in your application if there are other ways you’d like to contribute and we’ll share with the team for consideration.
Most roles have both individual and leadership opportunities. Please indicate on your application if you’d like to be considered for such a role.
Types of Roles:

Experience Specialist
Your mission is to ensure a positive and memorable experience for all Gathering attendees, speakers, partners, and vendors. You'll be the face of the event, providing support and creating an atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression. - Experience Specialist Shift Lead
As a Shift Lead, you bridge the gap between Team Leads and their teams. You'll oversee the smooth flow of operations, solve problems as they arise, and make decisions effectively to ensure everything runs seamlessly. - Experience Specialist Team Lead
With a diverse set of skills, you're the go-to person for attendees and team members alike. You may be called upon to fill multiple roles, support your teams through training, manage schedule shifts, and handle any questions or challenges that arise.

Registration & Ticket Sales/ Concierge
As a volunteer in Registration and Ticket Sales, you'll play a crucial role both before and during The Gathering. Your responsibilities will include registering guests, preparing and printing badges, and providing top-notch guest services and concierge support. You’ll be the first point of contact for attendees, setting the tone for their entire experience.
Speaker/VIP Hosts
Volunteers in the Speaker and VIP Host role are responsible for providing personalized support and hospitality to our esteemed speakers and VIP ticket holders. Your involvement begins before The Gathering and extends throughout the event, ensuring that our most important guests have a seamless and memorable experience.
Flow Experts
As a Flow Expert, you'll be on the front lines during The Gathering, managing the movement and experience of attendees. Your duties include directing traffic, scanning badges, and ensuring that the event flows smoothly from one moment to the next. You are essential to maintaining the energy and order of the summit.
Room Hosts
Room Hosts are integral to keeping the sessions running smoothly and on time. During The Gathering, you will support the production team and stage managers, prep speakers and moderators, and manage seating. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will help create a flawless event experience.
Inner Sanctum Hosts
A specialized group of Room Hosts, Inner Sanctum Hosts oversee The Gathering’s most exclusive and intimate sessions. You will confirm registration, scan badges, manage entry, and ensure that all participants adhere to the Inner Sanctum 10 Commandments. Your role is vital in maintaining the sanctity and exclusivity of these sessions.
Production Support
As a Production Support volunteer, you will assist the production team and stage managers with various tasks, including minor set adjustments and coordinating with speakers and moderators. During The Gathering, you will also help ensure the stage is ready by replenishing on-stage water and making sure everything is in place for a seamless production.
Drivers/Speaker Transportation
In the Drivers and Speaker Transportation role, you will provide essential shuttle services for speakers between the YYC Calgary airport and Banff Springs, as well as throughout Banff during the event. This role extends from pre- to post-Gathering, with the responsibility of maintaining vehicles provided by our fleet sponsor and ensuring timely and safe transportation for our speakers.

What is the time commitment?
Volunteers are required to commit to specific shifts throughout the day of the event, with flexibility to accommodate your schedule. We’ll provide more details during the application process.
Will I receive any training?
Yes, all volunteers will receive training and guidance to ensure you're fully prepared for your role.
What Do I Get in Return?
As a volunteer, you'll enjoy free access to event sessions around your shifts, along with complimentary snacks and beverages in the volunteer room. Upon request, you'll also receive a certificate of appreciation or a letter of recommendation. And that's just the beginning—more benefits will be revealed once you're confirmed as a volunteer, and trust us, they're exceptionally good!
